SPF Authentication Sender Policy Framework is a type of authentication that tells receiving ESPs that your domain is allowed to send from a given IP address. All IP addresses have SPF authentication and when using a custom domain, we give you the necessary records to comply with this type of authentication.
SSL / TLS Transport Layer Security and Secure Sockets Layer are both supported by Mailgun.
Return Path Qualified Return Path is a reputation certification service that provides a whitelisting service for many major email service providers. Mailgun is a partner with Return Path and we can facilitate obtaining their certification.
Sending API

Scheduled Delivery Mailgun allows you to request a specific time for your message delivery by using the o:deliverytime parameter when using the API. Please see the User Manual for more information.
MIME Assembly Instead of using MIME, you can pass the components of the messages such as To, From, Subject, HTML and text parts, attachments, etc. using the API. Mailgun will build a MIME representation of the message and send it. Please see the API Reference for more information.
Test Mode You can send messages in test mode by setting o:testmode parameter to true using the API and Mailgun will accept the message but will not send it. This is useful for testing purposes. Please see the User Manual for more information.
Receiving API
Parsing For incoming messages, Mailgun transcodes the original message into UTF-8, and parses the email into parameters so your application can handle them more easily. Please see the User Manual for more information.
HTTP POST to your app Using Routes, Mailgun will parse emails and POST them to a URL of your choice. Please see the User Manual for more information.
Signature Separation Using Routes, Mailgun will attempt to identify the signature portion of the email and remove that portion from the message parameter POSTed to your URL. Please see the User Manual for more information.
Quotation Separation Using Routes, Mailgun will attempt to identify the quoted portion of the email referencing previous messages and remove that portion from the message parameter POSTed to your URL. Please see the User Manual for more information.
Spam Filtering When enabled, Mailgun will either filter all email identified as spam or provide you with a spamicity score for you to calibrate your own filter, as well as perform an SPF validation.
Campaign Analytics

Tracking
Message Logs Mailgun provides you with real time logs of each message that gets sent or received and whether the message was successfully delivered or bounced, in order to debug. Please see the User Manual for more information.
Click Tracking Mailgun will rewrite links and keep track of when a link in your message was clicked. This data is available via a Webhook or through our Stats API. Please see the User Manual for more information.

Unsubscribe Tracking Mailgun will keep track of each time a recipient unsubscribes from a message or campaign. In addition, Mailgun can automatically remove that recipient from future mailings.
